Step 1: What You’ll Need:

This guide is 100% terminal-based — no mouse, no graphical UI. Just pure Linux, like real sysadmins do it.

🖥️ Old Computer (or Laptop):

• Minimum: Dual-core CPU (Intel i3/i5, AMD Ryzen 3, etc.)
• Minimum: 4 GB RAM
• Recommended: 16 GB RAM — especially for video streaming or running multiple services
• Laptop is ideal — built-in screen + keyboard
• Desktop is fine — but you’ll need monitor + keyboard for setup

🌐 Internet Connection:

• Wired Ethernet is best — router ↔ server
• If router is far: use Wi-Fi repeater with Ethernet out
• If your server has no Ethernet port: use USB to Ethernet adapter

💾 Storage Devices:

• USB stick (8 GB+) — to install Linux system
• External drive / Large USB (32 GB+) — to store media, practice mounting disks

📱 Second Device (Phone, PC, or Laptop):

• Should be on same local network (Wi-Fi is fine)
• Used to SSH into the server
• Allows you to copy-paste commands, monitor services remotely, and troubleshoot
